As Wil likes to put it, “I did not enter the ministry, but I conducted many prayer sessions during my career!”
Born in Alabama, Wil was raised a Virginian, living in Williamsburg since the 1970's. He graduated from Virginia Tech prior to entering the Virginia State Police. He is married to the former Kay Hollandsworth, who has two sons in college from a previous marriage, and together Wil and Kay are raising Jake, a beautiful White Lab and Chesapeake Bay mix, and Mattie, the mysterious cat. Wil has a daughter in Mechanicsville, who is the mother of two beautiful grandchildren, Caleb and Riley.
Having worked in government, private industry, and now for the church, Wil is glad to have his work-life come back to his spiritual roots. With his strong organizational skills, knowledge of accounting and tax compliance, and penchant for improving the church's financial picture through new programs and savings initiatives, Wil's dedication to good stewardship is a true asset to Wellspring.

Wil Colton, Treasurer
Wil came to Wellspring after a career in state service, being retired from the Virginia State Police. During his 31-year career, Wil worked as a Trooper, then a narcotics investigator, and lastly as a white-collar investigator.
Wil comes from a long line of ministers - six, in fact. His father was a Methodist minister on the Peninsula District for many of his years.
